Styles of Music videos
The different styles within Music videos are important because it’s used to paint a picture within the song making it look interesting or to just tell stories.
Kanye West
In the song “All falls down” Kanye west uses different perspectives as his way to tell the story to portray taking what seems to be his Girlfriend/possibly wife to the airport so that she can catch a flight. Kanye west usually uses the first person aspect to show him seeing off the woman at the airport.
A second song that shows off an interesting style for his music video is the song “Good Life” The style here is used to make it show off the rich life where people go gambling in places like VEGAS which is the kind of stuff you see on TV which is why at some scenes within the music video both Kanye and T-Pain appear on animated TV screens.
Michael Jackson
“You Rock my world” went for a slightly comedic style of video as it also features Chris Tucker who is a known comedian and entertainer. The Style of the video is based in a sort of bar where Michael goes after a girl he likes which gets him into trouble with people within the bar. Chris Tucker is used for comedic scenes as he follows Michael through the bar insisting that he shouldn’t follow the girl and by doing so he promotes other songs that Michael has done in the past like “Beat it”.
