Akira Toriyama was born in Japan on April 5th, 1955. He is a Japanese manga and game artist. Akira Toriyama’s first popular piece of work was from the manga/anime Dr.Slump which was about a man named Senbei Norimaki who had created an Android in the form of an innocent young girl called Arale Norimaki, the story follows Arale and her various adventures within Penguin Village.

Akira Toriyama’s most famous work, however, was the Dragon Ball series which focuses on a boy named Goku who meets various friends along the way searching for the 7 Dragon Balls which have the power of granting any wish. Along the way, Goku and his friends fight enemies and attempt to stop the evil Emperor Pilaf from collecting the Dragon Balls who’s goal is to make a wish that makes him the supreme ruler of the Earth. The Story eventually moves past that onto Dragon Ball Z which was the most popular part of the Dragon Ball series. Which follows a grown up Goku who has his own child (Gohan) and eventually goes on to have another (Goten).

In 2015 the Anime carried on from the Z saga in a new season called Dragon Ball Super which is still currently airing.
