Subdivisions
“A subdivision surface lets you subdivide specific regions of a mesh, giving you the ability to finely tune or smooth certain areas without changing the entire mesh.”
Workflow of Hammer for the (Synoptic Project)
My first model that I had designed and created in Maya for my Synoptic Project was the Hammer. The images below show the original model with very little subdivisions making it a low poly model all the way up until a higher res subdivided model and it’s final textures.
